Managing dealflow the easy way

Enagás Emprende is the Corporate Venturing team of Enagás, the publicly  listed Spanish energy company and European transmission system operator (TSO). Enagás owns and operates Spain’s gas grid and is also active in LNG terminals and storage facilities. The company has over 1,300 employees and 2020 revenues of ca. €1.1 bn. Since 2011, Enagás is also active outside of Spain, building and operating gas infrastructure projects in 8 countries. The company is fully committed to decarbonisation with a target to be fully carbon neutral by 2040 and is participating in over 100 energy efficiency, biogas and hydrogen projects.

Enagás Emprende invests and accelerates startups and innovative technologies in the field of energy transition with special emphasis on renewable gases (Biogas and Hydrogen), sustainable mobility, CCUS, energy efficiency, digitalisation and cleantech in general. Enagás Emprende became a customer of Venture IQ at the end of 2019 after trialling Catalist, our online lead generation, dealflow management, screening and collaboration platform. 

Catalist allows Enagás Emprendre to run an efficient dealflow management process. The team primarily uses Catalist to register all incoming approaches, upload company sets, structure and manage their dealflow. Venture IQ has created a close working relationship with Enagás, helping them set up the tool to mirror their process and regularly discussing user feedback to include in our development roadmap.

So far Enagás Emprende has screened and registered over 1000 companies in Catalist leading to an investment in 16 companies and more than 5 collaborations with bespoke support for every startup.
