We’re very proud to announce that WWF has selected a partnership of WorldStartup and Venture IQ to source bankable nature solutions for the €160M Dutch Fund for Climate Development (DFCD)!

The fund seeks to improve the wellbeing, economic prospects, and livelihoods of vulnerable groups of people. The DFCD aims to enhance the health of critical ecosystems, from river basins to tropical rainforests, marshland, and mangroves. This furthers WWF’s longstanding commitment to UN Sustainable Development Goals and investing in meaningful new business for the common good.

The Dutch Fund for Climate and Development (DFCD) enables private sector investment in projects aimed at climate adaptation and mitigation in developing countries.

The DFCD is managed by a pioneering consortium of Climate Fund Managers (CFM), World Wide Fund for Nature Netherlands (WWF-NL) and SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, led by the Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank, FMO.The DFCD forms an important additional instrument for the Dutch government’s efforts in contributing to the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made €160 million available to increase the resilience of communities and ecosystems most vulnerable to climate change.

This partnership combines execution capabilities along the whole value chain of scouting, assessment, start-up support, collaboration, investment and implementation of projects that actually make a difference! Venture IQ will be applying Catalist, our lead generation and collaboration platform, to efficiently source projects and manage the funnel. Together with World Startup Our analyst team will be proactively reaching out to selected parties and following up on applications.

Even though most of the projects Venture IQ works on are in the area of technology & business model innovation which lead to more sustainable and efficient use of resources, we are particularly happy that this partnership focuses on projects and startups that combine socio-economic and climate impact. It feels good to do good!
